Gondwana World Choral Festival ProfessionalDevelopment Offering
Do you, or does someone you know, teach music to young people? Or singing? If so, then I’d like to let you know about an opportunity which I think will inspire and empower you.
This year marks the 30th Anniversary of the founding of the Sydney Children’s Choir. It’s a great excuse for a big party, and so we’re mounting the Gondwana World Choral Festival. It promises to bring a week-load of new knowledge and experience in the area of children’s choral music.
Alongside an embarrassment of riches in terms of inspiring concerts, we’re also offering you a chance to immerse yourself in five days of lectures, masterclasses and workshops. These will take place daily during the festival, and be presented by leading music educators like Lyn Williams, Deborah Cheetham, Elizabeth Vierboom and Dr Anita Collins. You’ll also have a chance to witness the world’s best choristers in rehearsal. For more details about what’s on offer, click here.
The GWCF PD offering comes with full NESA accreditation and there are two options for delegates:
Full-festival – for the fully immersive experience
Save with early-bird registration for $550. Full-festival passes include premium seats to Sydney Opera House opening and closing galas, and access-all-activities
Half-festival – because we do understand that our teachers are time poor
Save with early-bird registration for $250. Half-festival passes include a premium seat to Sydney Opera House closing gala, plus access-all-activities
EARLY-BIRD REGISTRATION ENDS NEXT MONDAY 11 FEBRUARY*
The boring but important bit
Completing all seven days of GWCF0007 will contribute 22.5 hours of NESA Registered PD addressing 6.2.2, 6.3.2, 7.4.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW. A half-festival package, GWCF0003, contributes 9 hours of NESA Registered PD addressing the same standards.
If you’ve never experienced the magic of Gondwana Choirs click here to watch ‘Lie light dear heart’ by Kenneth and Kirsten Lampl. I always get goosebumps around the 3:20 mark!
Please don’t hesitate to be in touch with any questions, tell all your friends, and I hope we’ll be able to welcome you to the Gondwana World Choral Festival come July.
