Australian Military Wives' Choir teaching vacancy
Tue Mar 24 2015The focus of the Australian Military Wives' Choir (AMWChoir) is to provide a fun, supportive and warm environment where women connected to Defence Force members can come together and enjoy singing.
We currently have choirs in Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane and Townsville and expect to have a fifth Choir in Adelaide soon. The current Townsville Music Director is looking for an experienced singing teacher to lead rehearsals on a volunteer basis.
We are looking for a woman who has some music and part singing experience. She would need to be able to encourage and assist members learning to sing, and commit to rehearsals every 1st, 3rd and 5th Thursday evening each month from Feb-Nov. The Choir meets from 7.30 - 9pm at Lavarack Barracks, Townsville. She would be supported with advice and coaching from our National Music Director, and would have admin support from our National Committee and a local coordinator. All music resources are pre-selected and supplied.
Ideally we would love her to be connected to a serving member of the Defence Forces (girlfriend, wife, daughter, sister, mother etc....) as that matches our membership base and will help them connect with the values and spirit of the choir. If there is anyone interested, I would love to hear from them: I am the AMWChoir National Coordinator and can be contacted via email on: amwc.coordinator@gmail.com
