The choir, or the choir director, should be a member of ANCA. Membership details are on the ANCA website.
To fill the central Perth CBD with Choral Music is a joyous experience for the singers and the crowds of people filling the city for the Sunday of WA Heritage Weekend. ‘Singing in the City’ is now a regular part of our ANCA Calendar and WA Heritage are delighted to continue with our involvement.
We have the opportunity to perform in many Heritage-listed buildings in Perth.
The format for each performance is:
1-2 x 30 minute timeslots (plus a break in between each) NB: if you only wish to perform once, instead of twice, please let me know. That is not a problem.
o Within the 30 minutes, allow up to 5 minutes set up, and up to 5 minutes to leave the performance space ready for the next choir to perform
o Up to 20 minutes of repertoire
Gala Performances > a mini choir festival
So that choirs may perform and hear other choirs perform, there will be a grand gathering of choirs at the Town Hall from 2.00 – 3.30. Performances for each choir will include 1-2 songs (depending on length of song/s). Unfortunately, due to staging limitations, only smaller choirs (up to 20ish) will be involved in this. However, if you have a medium-large a cappella choir, you could stand on the floor and not use the stage. As the piano cannot be taken off the stage, large accompanied choirs may find this challenging.
