CONSERVATORIUM STARS SING IN SUNNYBANK
Outstanding young Mansfield soprano, Annika Hinrichs, will feature as one of two vocal soloists appearing with the Queensland Choir in their concert CHORAL CLASSICS at the Sunnybank Performing Arts Complex on Saturday April 29 at 7.30pm.
She will be joined in the concert by baritone Christopher McNee from West End. Both singers are currently completing studies at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music where both have appeared in principal roles in Opera School productions and won numerous prizes in competitions.
The two soloists will each perform solo items and will join together in duets in this concert presented by the Queensland Choir which will also perform a wide-ranging selection of popular choral music from its repertoire.
The Choir's Chorus Master, Kevin Power, said “The Queensland Choir likes to give opportunities to some of our up and coming vocal stars wherever possible and these are two young singers of really outstanding promise who certainly fall into that category.”
Annika Hinrichs and Christopher McNee will perform songs and arias by Mozart, Bellini, Britten, and Mascagni in the concert and will finish with a performance of the duet 'Anything you can do, I can do better' from Annie Get Your Gun.
“Our programme has something for everyone ranging from some of the greatest pieces of classical vocal music to things that everyone will know and be able to whistle on the way home” said Kevin Power.
Tickets for the concert are available for purchase from the SunPAC Box Office either in person, via the SunPAC website www.sunpac.net.au, or by phone on (07) 3323 9650.
