Choral conductors come from all walks of life and a variety of backgrounds. Some have sung in choirs their whole lives and find themselves out the front leading a community group that feels like their family; some have a classroom teaching background and are encouraged by their principal to take a choir to enhance school culture; and others have studied conducting, worked with master teachers and have made vocal and choral tuition their full-time job. Despite skill and experience levels, everyone has success stories and challenges from their time in front of a choir. And then there are the choristers themselves – keen musicians that have a desire to express themselves creatively through song and build a network of like-minded friends to spend time with each week. Without dedicated singers there is no music at all!
The Sing and Share Fair is ANCA’s invitation to Brisbane’s choral community to meet, socialise, share stories, explore and collect repertoire, rehearsal strategies, warm-up tips and most importantly connect with people from across the city. It is FREE, relaxed and designed to bring choir folks together throughout the year to explore different topics.
Our Term 2 Sing and Share Fairwill be held at Café 63, 1020 Stanley St, East Brisbane from 5-7pm on Friday 10 May 2019. Attendees can order a drink, snacks and/or dinner and settle in for a fun, friendly and educational evening. Term 2’s topic is WARM-UPS and everyone is invited to bring along one or more of their favourite warm-ups to share with the group. Please contact Bec Thomas for more information and to RSVP your attendance (email@example.com).
