Introduction Raffles Singers presents the inaugural Singapore International Choir Composition Competition (SICCC). Composers of all nationalities, ages, backgrounds and experiences are invited to submit their works for a chance to be world-premiered at the historical Victoria Concert Hall, Singapore in July 2020. About Raffles Singers Raffles Singers was founded when alumni singers of Raffles Chorale, the choir of Raffles Junior College and recipient of the 1999 Best Choir of the Year award at the Singapore Youth Festival competition, reunited and sang to a full house at Victoria Concert Hall for a concert in 2001. Since its inaugural concert, Raffles Singers has continued to draw choristers from various established backgrounds to perform in local concerts and compete at international festivals. The choir actively performs and competes both locally and overseas, in countries such as Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Germany and so on. Over the last few years, the choir was awarded three Grand Prix prizes from choir competitions and festivals in Bratislava, Torun and Salzburg. Raffles Singers was also the first Singaporean choir in over 20 years to be invited to perform at the 11 th World Symposium on Choral Music, Barcelona, Spain in 2017. Under the direction of award-winning conductor Toh Ban Sheng, Raffles Singers continues to be recognised as a premier Singaporean choir, and aims to showcase their passion for choral singing while striving for musical excellence through rigorous practice. Competition Details This year, Raffles Singers has put together the first SICCC to attract composers from Singapore and the world to write choral music for the competition

Submission details are as follows: 1. Works must be written for SATB choirs, maximum of 8 parts (SSAATTBB), with optional unpitched percussion instruments 2. For early bird submissions, 35 SGD entry fee for registration & the first work. Subsequent entries at 55 SGD each, payable at submission. 3. Deadline of submission: 31st January 2020, 2359 hrs (GMT +8)
