Calling all 2020 HSC & IB Music Students!

Working with singer and composer Ruth McCall, ANCA presents a series of workshops designed for students who wish to compose for choir (or any vocal group!) as part of their HSC/IB submissions in 2020. Designed to offer students the chance to hear their works with a small vocal group, these workshops culminate with a recording with professional singers.

Workshop 1
When: Sunday November 17th 1:30 – 5:00pm. Afternoon tea provided.
Where: Sydney Conservatorium High School, Room JPA
Cost: $40
What to bring: a pen, notebook, manuscript (or rendering software)
Workshop 1 (Term 4, 2019): Writing for voices; the dos and don’ts ($40)
Workshop 2 (Term 1, 2020): Developing your piece; hear how it sounds ($40)
Workshop 3 (Term 2, 2020): One-to-one feedback (free) & recording session ($150)
The workshops will be run by professional composers and musicians with many
years of teaching experience who have a particular interest in choral music, including
Ruth McCall, Amber Johnson, Michael Bradshaw and Peter Ellis.
