A non-profit Children's Community Choir that welcomes boys and girls of all abilities (no auditions required) from 5yrs to 16yrs who love to sing. Our director, Janet Blenkinsop, started the non-profit, North Coastal Children's Choir in 2015. She was determined to give children from all backgrounds and all abilities from the far north coast the opportunity to sing in a choir, just like she was given in her early years when living in the UK. The choir consists of incredibly fun and spirited boys and girls of all ages. Currently our youngest member is 6 with the eldest, 13. With the help of our main sponsor, City of Wanneroo, and time donated by Janet and parents, means we can provide the choir at a very affordable rate ( $2 per week), so any child no matter what their background can join. We do not audition, we believe that if you love to sing then Janet, as a classically trained artist, will teach all you need to know to sing safely. Children are encouraged to showcase their talents and are coached (FREE of charge) one on one if they would like to sing a solo at many of our performances throughout the year. Over the years the choir has performed an ensemble musical "I'm Gonna Let It Shine " at the Limelight Theatre, Wanneroo, multiple performances at our local RAFFA and retirement villages, Wanneroo citizenship ceremonies and The Wanneroo Show as well as Christmas Carol performances for friends and family. Janet teaches children to sing in tune by a piano accompanist and professional singer. Backing tracks are used wisely. We also encourage children who play an instrument to join us and play their instrument at our performances.
