Budapest International Choir Festival and Competition: milestone in the history of choral competitions. Since 1988, every second the city attracts new choirs and high recognition for this concept and entire network of events. With the improved professional evaluation system, called InChoral Evaluation System, Budapest is modern than ever. Thus being more transparent and clear for singers and conductors, promoting an intensive communication between participants and the jury, meeting music helps the development of choirs and strengthen their motivation and dedication to music. Budapest, the first event in the series of International Music Competitions Network focus on cultural exchange, getting acquainted with one another and a shares musical experience, beside well deserved success of the choirs. The Opening Ceremony, the much celebrated concert is presented and conducted by Gábor Hollerung, who carefully chooses the pieces and manages every year to present the public with a real "Musical Surprise". Great space is given to contemporary compositions, especially from Hungary, world known for its rich musical tradition. Take this musical chance to get to know the beautiful capital of Hungary: its narrow alleys, its architectural history that makes Budapest a real work of art: a blend of ancient Roman, Medieval, Renaissance and Modern and sing in beautiful concert venues of the city, like the Music Academy and the Palace of Arts.
