Description: Songs in the Silence of Night
Step into the soaring expanse of St Mary's Cathedral as UWA Choral Society, conducted by Kristin Bowtell, presents an enchanting concert exploring themes of stillness, faith, and beauty: Songs in the Silence of Night.  Amidst the hustle and bustle of life, enjoy a moment of profound serenity as the voices of UWA Choral Society intertwine with the Cathedral's magnificent organ, played by Alessandro Pittorino, to evoke a sense of calm, wonder, and contemplation. Immerse yourself in the rich harmonies of Johannes Brahms, the spiritual intensity of Scotland's most famous composer, James MacMillan, and the deeply moving Orthodox sacred music of Sergei Rachmaninoff. From timeless classics to contemporary gems, each piece has been chosen to take you away from the nonsense, noise, and chaos of everyday life, as only the most beautiful and moving choral music can do. UWA Choral Society is joined by mezzo soprano Caitlin Cassidy, whose rich sound is well-known to Perth audiences from her many local appearances with West Australian Opera and Freeze Frame Opera, as well as with State Opera of South Australia and Opera Australia. Leave the frenetic noise and chatter of the world outside for a little while. Join us for Songs in the Silence of Night.
