Description:	Fleurieu Singers present Rossini’s spectacular Petite Messe Solennelle. Composed in the latter years of Rossini’s life, it was first performed by a group of twelve opera singers, accompanied by piano and harmonium in Rossini’s own home. Like many grand masses, it is more theatrical than liturgical and the music has everything one could want from an afternoon at the theatre - heroic arias, tender trios, rousing choruses and everything in between. This concert will be in the glorious acoustic of Malvern Uniting Church with four wonderful soloists, accompanied by piano and harmonium.
