Description: | Handel’s greatest oratorio Messiah is as impactful for audiences today as it was at its premiere more than 280 years ago. Uplifting and thought-provoking, Messiah appeals to all ages and backgrounds and is just as compelling for first-time listeners as it is to those who make an annual pilgrimage to enjoy the famous ‘Hallelujah Chorus’ and hum the ‘Amen Chorus’ on the way home. For nearly 30 years, Perth Symphonic Chorus has been delighting Western Australian audiences with this baroque masterpiece and this year’s performance in the iconic Perth Concert Hall promises to be the best yet. James Pratt conducts the Perth Baroque Orchestra and Perth Symphonic Chorus, joined by soprano Sara Macliver, mezzo-soprano Margaret Trubiano, tenor Benjamin Rasheed and bass Robert Hofmann. The orchestra will be led by Shaun Lee-Chen. |
