Description: | ![]() If you are seeking an afternoon of musical delight, please join the Brisbane Chorale at its upcoming performance of Franz Liszt's Via Crucis, Giuseppe Verdi's Te Deum, Johannes Brahms' Geistliches Lied, and Gabriel Fauré’s Cantique de Jean Racine on Sunday 30 March 2025 in St John's Cathedral. The concert, conducted by Emily Cox AM, features organist Christopher Wrench and two wonderful emerging baritone soloists, Nic Wallace and Timothy Nielson.
Liszt’s Via Crucis, written in the last decade of his life, is arguably his most important sacred work. Inspired by a Good Friday procession in the Colosseum in Rome, this is a majestic and vivid musical depiction of the 14 Stations of the Cross and the road to Calvary.
