Voices of Birralee will run two PD opportunities: one on the Gold Coast (Thurs 27 February) and one in Brisbane (Sunday 2 March). In these sessions, you will SING, TEACH and LEARN.
SING
Ever had to run a "community sing" or teach parents or co-workers a song? If not, would you like to be able to?
Paul Holley OAM will start our PD session by teaching a song in parts (by rote/ear) where not only will you learn a great song but you can pick up teaching techniques that you can adapt for your own situation.
TEACH
(Repertoire focus)
Our presenters will introduce you to some of their favourite choral pieces.
Each song presented will have an associated warm-up or rehearsal technique to develop/teach a technique or musical element found in the piece.
CHOICE of TWO OPTIONS to attend:
1. Changed voices (simple two-part and upwards) and SATB - Kate Albury
OR
2. Treble, unison through to SSAA - Jenny Moon
LEARN
(Vocal technique and Conducting Focus)
Building a free and beautiful sound using practical things that will engage students of all ages with Voice specialist Ireni Utley and Conductor Paul Holley.
You will learn practical vocal techniques that can be incorporated into your rehearsals and how your conducting gesture can support these techniques.
