The next concert by the Corinthian Singers, 4:00pm, Sunday 14 July 2024, at St John's, Halifax St, is "Illumination". The concert will highlight choral works on the theme of light.
There will be glorious music from works by Thomas Tallis, to three songs by Philip Glass in his brilliant, inimitable style, and a setting of Lux Eterna to the tune of Edward Elgar’s Nimrod from his Enigma Variations.
One of the highlight of the concert will be the premiere of Nous Pouvons Être, a new work by Musical Director, Matthew Atherton. The work, literally a call for peace, features Joshika Akhil, playing Himalayan singing bowls that will add shimmering notes to the work.
